Description
What It Is:
This is a 'Celebrate Recovery' worksheet titled 'Principle and Step 4 Inventory Worksheet.' It's a table with five columns labeled: 1. The Person (Who is the object of my Resentment or Fear?), 2. The Cause (What specific action did that person take that hurt me?), 3. The Effect (What effect did that action have on my life?), 4. The Damage (What damage did that action do to my basic moral, social, and/or sexual beliefs?), and 5. My Part (What part of the resentment am I responsible for?). The last column also includes prompts: 'Who are the people I have hurt?' and 'How have I hurt them?'.
Grade Level Suitability:
This worksheet is most suitable for high school students (grades 9-12) and adults. The content requires abstract thinking, self-reflection, and the ability to analyze complex emotions and relationships, making it inappropriate for younger students.
Why Use It:
This worksheet helps individuals explore and process resentments and fears within a recovery context. It encourages self-reflection, accountability, and understanding of the impact of others' actions on one's life and the impact of one's own actions on others. It promotes emotional healing and personal growth by identifying the root causes of negative emotions and taking responsibility for one's part in the situation.
How to Use It:
The worksheet should be filled out by carefully considering each question in each column. Start by identifying the person causing resentment or fear. Then, detail the specific actions that led to those feelings. Next, describe the effect of those actions on your life and the damage caused to your beliefs. Finally, honestly assess your own role and responsibility in the situation, identifying people you have hurt and how.
Target Users:
This worksheet is designed for individuals participating in a 'Celebrate Recovery' program or similar self-help or therapy programs. It is intended for adults and older teenagers who are working through issues related to resentment, fear, and personal responsibility.
